It is estimated that the Romeo Peach Festival, which has been running for nearly 80 years, can draw close to 300,000 people to the Romeo area every year and sports have played a major role for most of those years.

Four local bands will rock, roll and really make a difference this week for the Romeo Community. The bands will perform a benefit concert Thursday at Romeo's rock venue, Static Age. A $5 cover charge will allow customers to experience all four bands in the unique atmosphere of a small-town venue.

The Romeo Community Schools Board of Education will examine different services before deciding to move forward with a community survey. Board members at an Aug. 11 meeting listened to a presentation on services and pricing for conducting a survey from Romeo resident and parent Anita Banach.

Romeo Community Schools Board of Education has approved contracts for the district. At the Aug. 11 meeting, board members approved contracts for construction manager, law firms and architects.
